Yemeni Prime Minister Salem Bin Buraik met on Sunday with the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States to discuss support for the government and ways to bolster stability.
In his meeting with Saudi Ambassador Mohammed Al-Jaber, Bin Buraik expressed appreciation for the recent $368 million Saudi grant and the provision of fuel derivatives, describing them as a significant boost to government efforts to protect the national currency and curb inflation.
During talks with Emirati Ambassador Mohammed Al-Zaabi, discussions focused on development projects and renewable energy, including the solar power plant in Shabwa and its planned expansion in Aden. Bin Buraik commended the UAE’s role in supporting infrastructure and alleviating citizens’ hardships.
In his meeting with U.S. Ambassador Steven Fagin, the prime minister highlighted cooperation on economic reforms, maritime security, and preventing arms smuggling to the Houthis, as well as development programs and institutional capacity-building in the security sector.
Bin Buraik stressed that coordination with regional and international partners is essential to confronting challenges. For their part, the ambassadors reiterated their countries’ commitment to supporting the Yemeni government on political, economic, and humanitarian fronts.
