Security forces at Aden International Airport have foiled an attempt to smuggle valuable antiquities that two individuals were trying to ship abroad via air cargo.
According to a source in the Security Media Department, the suspects — identified as (N.S.F.S), aged 31, and (H.M.A.Sh), aged 45 — were employees at an international parcel delivery company.
The source said the inspection team discovered a box containing antique silver artifacts, which the suspects attempted to smuggle out of the country.
Authorities confirmed that the two individuals have been detained and referred to the competent authorities to complete legal procedures, as part of ongoing efforts to combat antiquities smuggling and protect Yemen’s cultural heritage from illicit trafficking and tampering.
