Yemen U-17s Exit Gulf Cup After 2-1 Defeat to UAE

Yemen’s U-17 national football team was eliminated from the Gulf Cup after a 2–1 loss to the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday evening at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, in the second round of Group A fixtures.

Yemen took the lead in the first half through Fahd Al-Faqih, who scored in the 30th minute, and held onto the advantage until halftime.

In the second half, the UAE turned the game around. Bati Al-Junaibi equalized in the 75th minute, before Hamad Belayli snatched a dramatic winner in the 90th minute.

The victory lifted the UAE to six points from two matches, securing their place in the semifinals. Yemen, meanwhile, remained without points after back-to-back defeats, officially exiting the race for qualification.

Yemen will conclude their group stage campaign against Oman on Saturday at the same venue.
