Yemen’s national U-17 football team will kick off their Gulf Cup campaign at 6:00 p.m. this Sunday in Doha, Qatar, in a Group A clash against the host nation. The tournament runs from September 20 to October 3 and features four teams in the group: Yemen, Qatar, the UAE, and Oman.
The “Little Reds” wrapped up their final training session at Qatar University pitches, held at the same time as today’s fixture, with head coach Samer Fadhl and his staff focusing on sharpening both fitness and tactical readiness.
Yemen’s youngsters are eager to deliver a strong performance against the hosts and secure a positive result that would boost their momentum in the competition. The match will take place at Hamad Al-Kabeer Stadium, home of Al-Arabi SC, which notably served as a training base for Brazil during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Yemeni team will don their full white kit, while Qatar will play in their traditional maroon.
